Position Summary:

The Corporate Space Manager oversees the Space Management Team. The role will develop and maintain the most shelf space with premier positioning for Silver Eagle products within independent accounts based on the retailer needs, sales, and company goals. The Corporate Space Manager will use the most current marketing technology and data to monitor and grow shelf space and accomplish Company objectives.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the direction of the Space Management Team
  • Train, direct, counsel and assist assigned employees in the strategies and techniques for increasing Silver Eagle supplier share in warm shelf, cold box, and single bins
  • Regularly evaluate the progress of assigned employees and make recommendations for improvements in distribution, sales methods, and performance
  • Build and maintain a schedule for the Space Management Team that is communicated to Market Managers and Region Managers monthly
  • Keep Sales Leadership and the Category Space Manager (Independents) informed of new competitive products and packages, strategy, and technology
  • Utilize space management software and technology to manage and measure Silver Eagle space
  • Coordinate and communicate shelf space opportunities to support all shelf set increases, decreases, new packages, and brands sold
  • Make recommendations to Sales Leadership on shelf set benchmarks and methods to increase sales through space management programs
  • Provide monthly progress updates to Sales Leadership with information on shelf space goals and opportunities by generating reports from IRI data and/or utilizing Margin Minder
  • Review chain space reports with Chain Space Specialist and KAMs monthly
  • Assist with planogram updates based on IRIS results and complete set goal verifications through Shelf IQ; submit independents sets to Anheuser Busch as needed
  • Address space accuracy issues monthly for designated accounts
  • Complete supplier surveys
  • Maintain product and image libraries
  • Attends weekly sales meetings
  • Adheres to all state and federal anti-trust legislation
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two (2+) years’ previous sales experience required. Prior grocery, consumer products experience, or knowledge of the beverage market, a strong plus
  • One (1) year independent sales account experience, preferred
  • Military experience equivalency may substitute for some requirements
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
  • Two (2) years’ experience with Space Management software, a plus
  • Excellent planning, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Requires solid sales and negotiating skills, product knowledge, excellent communication skills and attention to detail
  • A valid Texas Driver’s License and clean driving record
  • Able to handle alcohol, and work within T.A.B.C Guidelines
  • Must have a smart phone with a camera and data capability

The Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires lifting, loading, pushing, and pulling cases weighing between 20-50 lbs. per case and 160 lb. kegs in specialty accounts
  • Ability to operate a pallet jack, dolly, and six-wheeler cart
  • Continuous standing and walking, up to 8 hours at a time
  • Talk, hear, and see (including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus)
  • Frequent driving distances between 0-75 miles in one sitting
  • Exposure to indoor and outdoor weather conditions including high and low temperatures, wind, ice, humidity, rain, fog, hail, sleet and snow
  • Daylight, twilight, evening and dark lighting conditions Noise, vibration, dust, dirt, airborne particles, fumes
  • Work hours will vary daily due to business needs
