Description: JOB SUMMARY

The QC Supervisor leads quality control personnel and manages daily inspection activities for aerospace ground support equipment components and assemblies. This role ensures compliance with engineering specifications, customer requirements, and quality system standards while aligning inspection efforts with production schedules and shipping priorities.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Coordinate inspection activities in alignment with production schedules and shipping requirements.

· Provide technical guidance on inspection methods, metrology equipment selection, and drawing interpretation, including GD&T.

· Ensure product compliance to engineering drawings, customer requirements, quality standards, and weld specifications.

· Review and approve inspection reports, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and nonconformance documentation.

· Ensure timely identification, documentation, and containment of nonconforming product.

· Coordinate through Quality Engineering for proper disposition through established processes (e.g., MRB).

· Escalate recurring or systemic quality issues to the Quality Assurance Manager.

· Supervise QC Inspectors by assigning tasks and managing workflow efficiency.

· Drive improvements in inspection efficiency and quality performance.

· Approve timecards and manage time-off requests while monitoring attendance trends.

· Represent Quality Control in Gemba walks and production meetings.

· Ensure alignment between quality requirements and production execution.

· Escalate personnel performance or conduct issues to the Quality Assurance Manager as needed.

· Support internal and external audits and maintain ISO 9001 compliance.

· Promote continuous improvement initiatives and foster inspector development.

· Train, coach, and develop inspectors on inspection techniques and quality expectations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

· High school diploma or equivalent required.

· Minimum 7 years of QA/QC experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace or automotive.

· At least 3 years of supervisory experience.

· Strong proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T.

· Skilled in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint).

· Proficient in the use of standard metrology instruments, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, plug/ring gauges, pin gauges, and bore gauges.

· Familiarity with advanced metrology equipment such as CMMs, Romer/Faro arms, and laser trackers.

· Working knowledge of machining processes and welded assemblies.

· Working knowledge of ISO 9001.

· Demonstrated leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 25 pounds.
