This individual will play a key role in developing and optimizing advanced scientific instruments and methodologies, with a focus on charged particle optics, lasers, and related technologies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to experiments involving charged particle optics, lasers, and other cutting-edge technologies.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize laboratory systems, including vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and optical setups.
- Interface with and automate a variety of scientific instruments (e.g., lasers, cameras) to streamline experimental workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and test experimental prototypes and systems.
- Document and present findings through technical reports, presentations, and publications.
- Maintain a safe and efficient laboratory environment, ensuring compliance with best practices and safety standards.
Qualifications
- Education: PhD in Physics or related fields (e.g., Applied Physics, Engineering).
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a research or product development capacity, ideally in designing, building, and testing charged particle optics.
- Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of laboratory practices, particularly those involving vacuum systems, high voltage systems, and optics. Proficiency in interfacing and automating scientific instruments, including lasers, cameras, and data acquisition systems. Hands-on expertise in charged particle optics, lasers, or closely related areas.
- Communication Skills: Demonstrated ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced R&D environment, balancing multiple priorities and adapting to evolving challenges.
