Area Operations Coach in Ventura, California at Urbane Cafe Operations LLC

Summary of Position:

The Area Operations Coach serves as the leader for overall Restaurant performance within an assigned area of 6-8 Restaurants including the ability to hire, inspire, develop and motivate the team while embracing and promoting the Urbane Cafe culture and values while reaching financial goals.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Instills trust in Team Members by providing leadership with integrity, discretion and fairness
• Promotes the culture and values of Urbane Cafe in a positive manner
• Coaches and inspires Managers to achieve objectives in sales, profitability, service, quality, appearance of the Restaurant, and sanitation/cleanliness
• Develops area succession planning by identifying talent internally and externally and leading recruiting efforts
• Recruits quality talent by promoting a positive culture and growth opportunities and developing leaders within the market
• Continuously monitors performance of Managers and provides immediate feedback to strengthen engagement
• Inspires and motivates management team to improve by sharing goals and progression towards the goals
• Coaches Managers in Team Member recruitment, development, performance management and retention
• Generates area sales growth by developing strategic short and long-term marketing plans along with Managers
• Partners with Managers to set personal development goals in order to build their skills and abilities for career progression
• Communicates strategic plans with the ROC and COO and provides immediate feedback on areas of opportunity
• Participates and contributes to monthly P&L meetings

• Ability to achieve results through leadership and management of others
• Strong leadership skills to coach and mentor Managers
• Experience in developing and overseeing the execution of the Restaurant budget in order to meet goals
• Proven success in analyzing financial reports and making necessary management decisions
• Experience in preparing and administering work schedules to effectively manage labor costs and meet service standards
• Ability to coach Managers to increase Team Member retention and engagement
• Demonstrate strong time management skills
• Comprehension of Urbane Cafe policies regarding personnel and administration of prompt, fair, and consistent corrective action for any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures
• Demonstrated understanding and compliance with all federal, state, county, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety, and labor requirements of the Restaurant, Team Members and guest

Qualifications/Skills:

• Passionate about creating a fun, warm, inviting, positive culture that provides the ultimate experience for guests and work experience for the team
• Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Good verbal and written communication skills; Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Education and/or Experience:

• College degree preferred
• 4+ years in a Multi-Unit Management position in QSR/Casual Dining
• 5+ years of management experience in strong single-unit
