About This Position

Summary:

As a Materials Handler, you will be trained to drive productivity within the facility. You will ensure orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product for final distribution. Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Locate and acquire parts from the production line. Stock and organize inventory.
  • Deliver parts to the production line and prepare shipments for offsite locations.
  • Operate safety sensitive and heavy equipment such as forklifts, tuggers, pallet jacks, flatbed carts, and more.
  • Load and unload material onto or from delivery vehicles, trailers, pallets, conveyor system carts, balers, and/or load gratings.
  • Assemble containers, and prepare materials for transport by palletizing, wrapping, loading, and moving.
  • Evaluates the assembly processes and equipment to look for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift, reach, push and carry up to 35 lbs.
  • Climb on and off a forklift using a 3-point grasp and an 11” step.
  • Each employee may be asked, on occasion, to complete other duties and responsibilities as needed. Training will be provided for the additional work when required.
  • Follow safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Qualifications/Requirements:

    • Ability to follow directions and work within a team.
    • Ability to interpret and translate engineering designs and documentation.
    • Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn production equipment.
    • Understanding of and the ability to abide by applicable OSHA and environmental regulations.
    • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions.
    • Must be detailed oriented.
    • Open to schedule flexibility that will allow for a variety of shifts including weekends.

    Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associates degree OR completion of related apprenticeship program preferred.
  • At least one year of related experience required.
  • At least two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Fast-paced environment.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.

  • Second Shift: 15:30 - 24:00
