Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the assigned Transportation Supervisor and direction of the Transportation Dispatcher, responsible for providing transportation services to members according to assigned routes/appointment schedules and utilizing appropriate vehicles. May provide delivery services as needed.

Responsibilities
Job SummaryUnder the supervision of the assigned Transportation Supervisor and direction of the Transportation Dispatcher, responsible for providing transportation services to members according to assigned routes/appointment schedules and utilizing appropriate vehicles. May provide delivery services as needed.
- Provides transportation services members from/to home to/from day health center sites and/or medical appointments according to assigned route/appointment schedule or as may be directed by the Dispatcher.Adheres to all agency, department, and State rules and regulations related to all aspects of providing safe and comfortable transportation services to members. This includes but is not limited to, use of gait belts, proper loading and unloading of passengers, proper wheelchair securement, safe and lawful driving, and assuring that members are not left unattended at any time.Reports any changes in the member’s home or behavior to the Transportation Supervisor or to other appropriate staff person as procedures indicate. Reports any vehicle safety/maintenance issues to the Transportation Supervisor as they arise.Follows established departmental van cleaning and refueling schedules. Completes route sheets on a daily basis including times of pickups and deliveries and turning in same to assigned Transportation Supervisor.Provides pick-up and delivery services, including mail, meals, medications, incontinent products, nourishments and Durable Medical Equipment.Attends staff meetings and agency in-services as required.Follows procedure for reporting accidents immediately after such incidents occur, whether vehicular or personal.Protects privacy and maintains confidentiality of employee, member and sensitive agency information.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalentA minimum one year of personal, and/or employment experience providing care or services for a frail or elderly population required.Bilingual English/SpanishValid California driver’s license and proof of auto insurance, clean driving record for a minimum period of three years prior to hire; must maintain clean driving record throughout employment; minimum two years’ driving experience; no more than 2 violations or a single ticket/accident value at more than 1 point on driving record
- Thorough knowledge of VCC facility locations and San Diego’s North County areaAbility to read / interpret directional maps and to use GPS systemsAbility to work quickly and efficiently under time constraintsDemonstrated dependability, ability to meet deadlines and adherence to all safety regulationsExcellent verbal and written skills necessary for communication with patients/clients, clinicians and other staff
- $23.00 $25.00 Depending on Experience
