Job Description
RAMP AGENT
Reports to
Station Manager
Qualifications:
• High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Experience as a Ramp Agent in a Part 121 environment preferred.
• Ability to perform all physical below wing duties.
• Able to work in extreme conditions, such as hot and cold weather, as well as small spaces.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds on a consistent basis.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities:
These shall include, but are not limited to the following:
• Aircraft Marshalling and wing-walking.
• Loading and Unloading of Aircraft.
• Familiarizing and hands on training on the safe operation of ground equipment (specific to equipment being operated).
• Aircraft servicing (includes catering).
• Ramp operations including safety rules, ramp markings (signs, signaling devices, lights and blast fences), equipment operating rules and procedures for positioning ground equipment around aircraft.
• Local airport rules and regulations (speed limits, roadways, etc.).
• Deicing Training in cold weather stations as per the Deice Manual (DIM).
• Be familiar with aviation security, weight and balance programs.
• Reporting safety hazards concerns, hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents to immediate Supervisor.
• Protecting passenger baggage from damage, loss, and weather conditions.
• Reporting equipment problems to the AIC or the Station Manager.
