The Occupational Therapist evaluates patients and develops individualized treatment plans to restore function, promote independence, prevent disability, and improve quality of life following illness, injury, surgery, or other medical conditions.
Key Responsibilities- Perform comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals
- Provide evidence-based occupational therapy interventions
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, adaptive techniques, and home exercise programs
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and rehabilitation team members
- Supervise and support COTAs, aides, students, and other assigned personnel
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and patient care planning
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Current Occupational Therapist license (or eligibility for licensure) in Michigan
- Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain before hire
- Strong communication, collaboration, and patient-centered care skills
