POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Project Engineer - Data Center Construction will play a critical role supporting the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center projects. This individual will work cross-functionally with design, engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment between design intent, field execution, and commissioning requirements.

This role requires a strong technical foundation across MEP systems, construction coordination, and project delivery, with a focus on maintaining schedule, quality, and cost objectives across complex hyperscale developments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support end-to-end project execution from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover
  • Coordinate with internal engineering teams to ensure design intent is accurately translated into field execution
  • Assist in managing construction schedules, tracking milestones, and identifying risks to delivery timelines
  • Review construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings for technical accuracy and constructability
  • Partner with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to drive alignment on scope, sequencing, and execution strategy
  • Monitor field progress and support issue resolution related to mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
  • Assist in tracking project costs, change orders, and procurement activities to ensure budget adherence
  • Support commissioning activities, including system validation, testing protocols, and turnover documentation
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality requirements, and regulatory guidelines
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across construction processes, execution strategies, and delivery models

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field)
  • 3–8+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or project delivery (data center, mission-critical, or large-scale infrastructure preferred)
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems, including power distribution, cooling systems, and critical infrastructure
  • Experience supporting large-scale construction projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with construction documentation, RFIs, submittals, and scheduling tools
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across cross-functional teams

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with hyperscale data center projects or mission-critical facilities
  • Exposure to commissioning processes and startup of critical systems
  • Knowledge of industry standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, NFPA, etc.)
  • Experience working with general contractors and EPC firms
  • Proficiency in project management and construction tools (Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Bluebeam, etc.)

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This role is based on-site at active construction projects
  • Candidates must be willing to work in a field-driven environment and be present on-site as required
  • Travel or relocation may be required depending on project location

Expected Salary Range: $110,000 - $130,000 Base Salary + Discretionary Bonus
