Job Description
JOB PURPOSE
The students of Midwestern Seminary / Spurgeon College are our greatest asset. Maintaining quality living facilities for those on our campus is vitally important to the students' well-being. The HVAC Technician is responsible for maintenance, repair and installation of the existing heating, air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Operate, maintain, and repair all equipment used for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning of college buildings. This may include performing warranty services and emergency repairs. Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and construction are helpful, however, not required. Assisting campus residents with HVAC queries while providing excellent service to the Midwestern community.
Job Duties
Including, not limited to
- Learn locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each building
- Maintain accurate inventory of all equipment and HVAC resources
- Learn to troubleshoot and repair HVAC/R equipment
- Maintain clean work environment
- Assist vendors during preventative maintenance or repair
- Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
- Christian with high integrity, actively pursuing a relationship with God
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Detailed oriented
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize based on daily needs of the facility
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic knowledge of building systems and/or construction is helpful, but not required
- You MUST be comfortable on a ladder, around heights and around equipment
- Must have a valid Drivers License
- Must be a team player and committed to working in a quality environment
- Must be able to pass a background screening, including driving record
- Eligible to work in the United States

WORKING CONDITIONS
- Monday through Friday, 8 am to 4:30 pm
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Extreme outside temperatures depending on season
- Tight spaces
- Consistent bending, squatting, walking, climbing, and crawling
- Lift, push or pull up to 100 lbs.
- Exposure to loud noises requiring hearing protection, dust, fumes, and gasses.
- Use of safety equipment including but not limited to: Safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toes work boots and hard hats.
- Loose fitting clothing is not permitted.
- Uniforms are provided.
