Job Summary The Material Handler is responsible for managing incoming and outgoing shipments, inspecting materials for accuracy, tracking inventory, and ensuring timely delivery of goods. This role also includes moving raw materials into the production area and transporting finished goods to the yard.
Responsibilities Receiving • Receive packages, materials, and supplies from carriers and internal departments. • Verify accuracy by checking quantities and quality against accompanying documentation. • Report discrepancies or damages to appropriate personnel. • Unpack, label, and organize materials for storage or immediate use. Shipping • Review shipping orders, invoices, and requisitions to determine items to be shipped and their destinations. • Select appropriate packaging materials and methods based on product requirements. • Pack items securely to prevent damage during transportation. • Generate shipping labels, bills of lading (BOLs), and other required documents. Material Handling • Move raw materials to designated production areas. • Transport finished products to the yard for staging, storage, or pickup. • Maintain organization and cleanliness in shipping, receiving, and storage areas
Requirements:Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management a plus. • Minimum two years of related experience required. • Sit-down forklift experience required. • Previous shipping, receiving, or warehouse experience preferred. • Knowledge of shipping and receiving processes and familiarity with related software or inventory systems. • Basic computer skills, including spreadsheet and word-processing proficiency. • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. • Excellent organizational and time-management skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions • Prolonged periods working in a warehouse and production environment. • Frequent exposure to outdoor elements. • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
