Junior Underwriter in Richmond Hill, Ontario at Brokerteam Insurance Group

Summary: We are a growing company in an interesting and challenging segment of the insurance industry. We are always looking for talented individuals to join our Personal Insurance Underwriting team; to perform a full range of policy underwriting functions related to Personal Insurance, such as Broker/Producer/Company Carrier Underwriter liaison and administrative account servicing.

Job Duties:

• Review and evaluate new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, and extent of insurance coverage
• Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and maintained in compliance with company practices and regulatory requirements
• Handle renewals, endorsements, payments, and cancellations
• Provide underwriting advice and answer inquiries from brokers and other company personnel
• Prepare underwriting reports and update insurance forms when necessary.
• Maintain positive relationships with brokers and market underwriters; answer underwriting questions; provide guidance on what is acceptable risk
• Perform other duties as assigned

• RIBO licensed preferred

Probation Period: 3 Months

Experience: High School Diploma/GED required, with some college or 1-3 yrs related experience
