About This Position

POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES:

The Director of Marketing is responsible for delivering and managing marketing and communications programs to support agency-wide strategic initiatives. In partnership with leadership and their teams, this role will proactively identify, recommend and create opportunities and solutions to promote understanding of SJJCC's services while assisting in the refinement and building of new capacities in digital, social media, PR and brand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Director Responsibilities:

· Partners with leadership to set strategic goals and objectives for programs

· Oversees the program’s overall performance and success

· Prepares and monitors department budgets

· Plans and executes all program initiatives and report on program outcomes

· Ensures programs stay compliance with agency and legal regulations

· Communicates objectives and outcomes with Senior Leadership and Board when necessary

· Supervises Marketing team to assure smooth and timely execution and management of marketing materials

· Conducts performance reviews and set performance goals for program and team members

· Recommends staffing requirements, recruit and train new team members

· Recommends promotions, transfers and terminations

· Partners with Human Resources to coach, counsel and discipline team members

· Enforces SJJCC policies and procedures

Position Responsibilities:

· Strategizes, visions, and develops innovative integrated marketing strategies and campaigns

· Ongoing evaluation, assessment, and refinement of marketing collateral, processes, tactics, and opportunities to assure continued high quality and effectiveness

· Brings agency visions and brand awareness campaigns to life by developing impactful ways to get our message out

· Builds vendor relationships and negotiate contracts

· Analyzes engagement dashboard to optimize spends and ensure KPIs are being met

· Oversees website content, functionality, development, and upgrades

· Ensures all communications are aligned with SJJCC brand positioning to deliver differentiation across target audiences and support business goals

· Demonstrates exceptional leadership skills including the ability to influence and manage change

· Additional duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in developing and executing marketing strategies

· 3 years’ supervisory experience

· Proven marketing communications and production experience

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Master’s Degree a plus

· Strong entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to work independently and collaboratively across the agency

· Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven ability to develop positive relationships within and outside the agency

· Highly developed written communication skills (copywriting and editing)

· Ability to develop innovative and creative campaigns

· Detail-oriented with strong organization and project management skills

· Strong-to-expert knowledge of social media platforms

· Ability to articulate concepts and strategies effectively and persuasively

· Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize work, manage a variety of projects and meet multiple deadlines

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a workstation while using a computer and participating in meetings.

· Frequent use of hands and fingers for typing, writing, and operating office and digital equipment.

· Ability to visually review detailed marketing materials, digital content, and analytics dashboards for extended periods.

· Occasionally required to lift and carry materials such as promotional items, printed collateral, or event supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.

· Occasional travel within the local area may be required for meetings, vendor visits, or event coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· Work is primarily performed in a professional office setting equipped with standard business and marketing tools.

· Fast-paced and highly collaborative environment requiring regular interaction with internal departments, leadership, external vendors, and partners.

· Occasional off-site work at events, photo/video shoots, or marketing-related activities.

· May require extended hours, including evenings or weekends, to meet deadlines or support high-profile events and campaigns.

· Exposure to evolving digital platforms, analytics tools, and communications systems as part of ongoing marketing innovation.
