Overview:
The Investment Operations Analyst position reports directly to the Managing Director of Investment Operations and Implementation in the Investment Office and will primarily be responsible for investment performance calculation and reconciliation, cash flow management, and data collection and retention for the Hospital System s 9,
5 billion dollar investment program.
The Investment Operations analyst will also work alongside the Managing Director to conduct operational due diligence on existing and potential investment managers and work closely with the Investment team to complete enhanced performance and risk analytics.
The Investment Operations Analyst works closely with the Chief Investment Officer, Investment team, the custodian bank, fund administrators, investment managers back offices, and relevant Hospital System departments on a regular basis.

Specific Job Functions:
Performance Reporting
- Calculate monthly investment performance for the Hospital Systems $9.5 billion investment program
- Prepare performance flash estimates, performance reports, and other analytics
- Generate an evolving range of statistics regarding the portfolio and existing/potential managers
- Ensure accuracy of all reports
Cash Flow Management
- Work closely with external investment managers, Hospital System Treasury team, and custodian bank to ensure timely and accurate payment and recording of all investment cash flows
Data Collection and Retention,
- Archive all investment manager correspondence e.g. performance estimates, statements, transparency reports, legal documents, letters,
Operational Due Diligence
- Assist the Managing Director of Investment Operations and Implementation with investment manager operational due diligence for both existing and potential investment managers, including reviewing manager trading practices, compliance, accounting, performance reporting, and relationships with administrators, brokers, auditors, and other service providers.
Investment Onboarding and Monitoring
- Establish accounts at the custodian, prepare and fulfill investment manager documentation requirements, coordinate information flow from investment managers to RWJBarnabas Health and the custodian bank, monitor and direct cash flow activity, and maintain up-to-date records
- Monitor changes to manager agreements and verify managers' adherence to investment mandates and agreements
Enhanced Performance Analytics
- Work closely with Senior Investment Staff to generate look-through exposure reporting and risk analytics for the investment portfolios, Investment Committee and Senior Management Deliverables
- Assist with the development of quarterly Investment Committee materials and other reporting requests
Additional ad-hoc projects as required
Requirements
- Bachelors degree with record of high academic achievement
- At least 2 years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience can include work at a hospital system or similar non-profit, bank, fund administrator, or asset management firm
- Basic knowledge of different investment strategies, including alternative asset classes
- Well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data
- Strictly follows data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards
- Cultural astuteness and appreciation for the Hospital Systems mission
- Team orientated with the ability to motivate and energize people at all levels and functions to pursue common objectives and business goals
