Position Overview
General Labor / Production Support – 2nd Shift
Shift Details
- Training period on 1st Shift (hours and duration determined by training needs)
- Regular assignment to 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM following successful completion of training
- Shift premium: $2.00/hour for 2nd shift, in addition to the regular hourly rate
The General Labor / Production Support role assists with a variety of hands-on tasks that support daily manufacturing operations. This position focuses on basic production support activities such as painting, parts washing, parts picking, housekeeping, and light preventative maintenance. The role is essential to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient shop environment.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform general labor tasks that support production operations and workflow
- Assist with painting, parts washing, parts picking, and material handling
- Operate basic shop equipment and entry-level machine tools (deburring, drill press, lapping)
- Maintain clean and organized work areas and equipment
- Support production schedules by completing assigned tasks on time
- Identify and report damaged materials, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions
- Perform light preventative maintenance and routine housekeeping duties
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies
- Work independently or as part of a team with minimal supervision
- Maintain acceptable attendance and job performance
- Perform other duties as assigned to support shop operations
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous manufacturing or general labor experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment
- Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and quality
- Willingness and availability to train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
