POSITION TITLE: Machine Operator – Saw / Burn
LOCATION: North Bay, Ontario
PAY: $21 to $25 per hour
MacLean Engineering is looking for skilled and experienced Machine Operator to join our growing team in North Bay, Ontario This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing team. About the Position: The Machine Operator is responsible responsible for operating basic metal working machinery to perform machining operations on ferrous and nonferrous metals and plastic parts, weldments, or assemblies to engineering specifications in compliance with all MEMCO policies and procedures. This position requires the following proficiencies.
- Receive shipments of raw materials against corresponding purchase orders.
- Process raw material through operation of mechanical saws, punch press, drill press, and CNC burning machine as per drawing requirements.
- Ensure all work is conducted according to in-house procedures as directed by area supervisor.
- Immediately stop any unsafe action and take action towards permanent corrective measures.
- Use and maintain personal protective equipment, i.e. safety glasses, safety boots, ear plugs, etc., as required.
- Develop and maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Adopt and practice good housekeeping, 5S, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Able to layout parts to specification.
- Abide by all applicable regulatory and company-specific safety standards.
- Abide by ISO 9001 Quality Management System and associated procedures.
- Contribute to continual improvement of safety, quality, product, production, work environment.
- Willing to cross-train in other departments as needed on a temporary basis.
About You: The successful candidate(s) must be willing to learn, open-minded and flexible, organized and detail oriented, team oriented, disciplined, and must have a positive attitude, along with the following qualifications:
- Minimum High School Diploma or Certificate of Completion
- Some post-secondary education in a related discipline or skilled trade education is preferred
- Related industrial experience in saw / burn and CNC operations.
