Pool & Hotel Maintenance Technician

Position Summary

Tanglewood Resort is seeking a dependable and skilled Pool & Hotel Maintenance Technician to assist in maintaining the resort's facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and pool operations. This position plays a vital role in ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. The ideal candidate will have experience in general maintenance, troubleshooting, and pool operations, with a strong commitment to safety and guest satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Pool Maintenance

• Monitor, maintain, and balance pool and spa water chemistry.
• Perform routine inspections of pool equipment, pumps, filters, and related systems.
• Clean pools, spas, decks, and surrounding areas to ensure guest safety and cleanliness.
• Respond promptly to pool-related maintenance issues and guest concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of pool chemical levels and maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.

Hotel & Resort Maintenance

• Perform general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the resort, including guest rooms, public spaces, restaurants, meeting areas, and recreational facilities.
• Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems as needed.
• Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs and potential safety hazards.
• Assist with setup and maintenance for special events and resort functions.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance storage areas in an organized and safe condition.

Guest Service & Safety

• Provide courteous and professional service when interacting with guests and team members.
• Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations as needed.
• Assist with snow, storm, or weather-related property maintenance when required.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• General maintenance experience in hospitality, commercial, residential, or related environments.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to operate maintenance tools and equipment safely.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred

• Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certificate preferred but not required.
• Previous experience maintaining pools and spa facilities.
• Hospitality or resort maintenance experience.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.
• Ability to work around pool chemicals and maintenance equipment safely.

Work Schedule

• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, evenings, and on-call shifts as needed to support resort operations.
