Registered Nurse (RN) - Substance Abuse Inpatient

Location: Torch Recovery Center (Recess Recovery Network & Affiliates) Bayville, NJ

Torch Recovery is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct nursing care to patients receiving substance use and behavioral health treatment. The RN supports safe withdrawal management, medication administration, patient education, and coordination of care as part of an interdisciplinary treatment team.

• Conduct nursing assessments, including medical history, vital signs, withdrawal symptoms, and other required screenings.
• Provide direct nursing care throughout detoxification and residential treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and facility protocols.
• Monitor medication effectiveness, adverse reactions, and changes in patient condition.
• Implement provider orders and respond appropriately to medical and psychiatric emergencies.
• Educate patients regarding medications, withdrawal management, health, and recovery.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
• Complete and maintain MARs, controlled substance records, infection control logs, incident reports, shift reports, and other required nursing documentation.
• Follow applicable medication management and controlled substance procedures.
• Collaborate with providers, nursing leadership, therapists, counselors, and other members of the treatment team.
• Participate in treatment planning, nursing meetings, required training, and quality improvement activities.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, and facility policies.
• Follow applicable New Jersey nursing, behavioral health, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred.
• 1–2 years of nursing experience preferred, particularly in substance use, behavioral health, detoxification, or psychiatric care.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
• Current CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
