Director, Global Value, Access & Pricing, Solid Tumors & Pipeline

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Global Value, Access & Pricing, Solid Tumors & Pipeline based in the United States.

This senior strategic role will shape global market access, pricing, and value strategies for an innovative solid tumor pipeline.
You will help ensure emerging assets are designed with future payer expectations, reimbursement requirements, and commercial opportunities in mind.
The position has broad influence across clinical development, HEOR, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Regulatory, and regional market access teams.
You will identify evidence gaps early and translate payer and market insights into recommendations that strengthen development and access strategies.
The role also involves developing early value propositions, supporting evidence generation, and preparing assets for future launch and reimbursement discussions.
You will operate across global markets, balancing regional requirements with a consistent strategic vision for the portfolio.
This is an opportunity to influence the future success of solid tumor therapies by embedding market access thinking early in the development lifecycle.

Accountabilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of global pricing and market access strategies for solid tumor pipeline assets, typically across Phase II and Phase III development.
  • Integrate market access requirements into clinical development strategies, influencing trial design, endpoints, evidence generation, and development scenarios.
  • Identify market access-related evidence gaps that could affect future reimbursement breadth, pricing potential, or commercial sustainability.
  • Develop strategic recommendations to address evidence gaps and optimize reimbursement and pricing opportunities.
  • Collect, synthesize, and incorporate feedback from regional and focus markets into global development and access strategies.
  • Represent the global value, access, and pricing perspective in relevant governance and portfolio oversight forums.
  • Develop early value propositions that clearly communicate the clinical, economic, and broader value of pipeline assets to global payers.
  • Partner with Clinical, Medical Affairs, HEOR, Commercial, Regulatory, and R&D teams to define evidence requirements and strengthen product value propositions.
  • Collaborate with HEOR teams on health economic models, burden-of-illness studies, and other evidence-generation initiatives designed to address payer needs and differentiate products.
  • Serve as a market access point of contact for assigned global development teams or governance groups when delegated.
  • Engage regional and focus-market access teams to align global strategies with local reimbursement requirements and market dynamics.
  • Contribute market access expertise to clinical development decisions and business development activities, ensuring payer needs, risks, and evidence requirements are appropriately considered.
  • Partner with commercial, clinical, medical, HEOR, and regional access teams to shape early target product profiles and evidence plans.
  • Drive pre-launch planning activities, including early value toolkits, relevant Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) PICO development, and early payer engagement strategies.
  • Support launch readiness by providing communication, training, and strategic guidance to regional and affiliate teams.
  • Support regional activities associated with early pipeline asset in-licensing.
  • Monitor the solid tumor competitive landscape, payer expectations, pricing trends, HTA developments, and regulatory changes that could affect access and reimbursement.
  • Analyze global and regional market insights to refine value propositions, pricing strategies, and product positioning as assets progress through development.
  • Lead early pipeline payer consultation activities across relevant markets, working with regional teams and applicable health technology assessment bodies.
  • Provide strategic input to portfolio prioritization exercises and help assess the market access implications of different clinical development scenarios.
  • Communicate complex market access analyses and recommendations clearly to senior stakeholders, highlighting strategic opportunities, risks, and trade-offs.
  • Deliver projects efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, globally distributed environment.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; typically 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, including at least 5 years of direct experience in global, regional, or local Market Access functions.
  • Significant experience in market access and payer engagement within oncology, ideally with solid tumor experience.
  • Experience working with pipeline or early-stage assets and familiarity with JCA preparation are strong advantages.
  • Deep understanding of the global pricing and reimbursement landscape, including regional pricing guidelines, health technology assessment processes, and national reimbursement requirements.
  • Strong knowledge of market access requirements for coverage and reimbursement, with the ability to navigate complex cases and address payer or customer questions effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop compelling value propositions and value toolkits that support regional and affiliate market access teams.
  • Understanding of health economics and health technology assessment methodologies, including economic modeling and cost-effectiveness approaches, is advantageous.
  • Strong strategic thinking and the ability to translate complex market, payer, clinical, and economic information into clear commercial strategies and actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to structure complex problems, synthesize information, identify key insights, and communicate them effectively.
  • Strong project management, organization, prioritization, and planning capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to execute initiatives quickly and efficiently.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across functions, cultures, geographies, and organizational levels.
  • Strong leadership, presentation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, particularly when working with senior Commercial, Finance, Clinical, Medical, and other cross-functional colleagues.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; proficiency in an additional language is an advantage.
  • Strong customer-focused approach to cross-functional collaboration and relationship building.
  • Ability to interpret data and translate insights into compelling market access strategies, value propositions, and development plans.
  • Demonstrated understanding of dynamic global market access value models, including value-based propositions and cost-effectiveness models.
  • Adaptable, results-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • Willingness to work across global time zones and travel as required by business needs.
  • An East Coast (EST) location is strongly preferred.
Benefits
  • Annual base salary: $183,700–$243,700, with actual compensation determined by factors including relevant skills, depth of experience, certifications, education, training, and specific work location.

  • Remote work opportunity within the United States, with an East Coast/EST location strongly preferred.
  • Opportunity to shape market access strategy for high-potential solid tumor pipeline assets from early development through pre-launch.
  • High-visibility role with significant cross-functional and global stakeholder exposure.
  • Opportunity to influence clinical development, evidence generation, pricing, reimbursement, and future commercial strategy.
