This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Accessibility Project Support Specialist - Level II based in the United States.
This is a fully remote opportunity supporting federal technology initiatives and ensuring accessibility is embedded throughout the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in advancing compliance with federal Section 508 standards across complex ICT programs.
The position combines accessibility expertise, data analysis, technical governance, project support, and reporting.
You’ll collaborate with project teams, acquisition professionals, technical leads, and government stakeholders to address accessibility requirements.
Your work will help ensure digital systems, content, and technology are accessible, compliant, and usable by a broad range of users.
You’ll also contribute to document remediation, accessibility training, and continuous improvement of program processes.
This role is ideal for an experienced accessibility professional who enjoys combining technical knowledge with analysis, communication, and program-level impact.
- Provide program compliance support and technical governance oversight to ensure ICT initiatives meet federal Section 508 accessibility requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review and validate accessibility data, identify compliance issues, and support accurate tracking of program activities and outcomes.
- Review Section 508 requests through established federal governance processes and provide technical guidance to project and acquisition teams.
- Integrate Section 508 compliance checkpoints into ICT acquisition processes and system development lifecycle (SDLC) activities.
- Interpret web accessibility testing results and translate technical findings into actionable recommendations for project stakeholders.
- Compile and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual accessibility activity and compliance reports, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and clearly presented.
- Review project deliverables at key SDLC milestones to identify accessibility risks and support timely remediation.
- Evaluate and remediate electronic documents and forms, including Microsoft Office files and Adobe PDF documents, to meet Section 508 standards.
- Provide verbal and written guidance on electronic document accessibility and offer back-up support for instructor-led accessibility training.
- Collaborate with technical teams, project managers, acquisition professionals, and government leadership to resolve accessibility and compliance challenges.
- Support technical governance and accessibility initiatives by applying established standards, processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Active International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) certification.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in ICT accessibility compliance and project support.
- At least 2 years of experience supporting ICT projects and acquisitions by addressing Section 508 requirements at defined lifecycle stages for complex IT projects.
- At least 2 years of dedicated experience evaluating and remediating electronic documents and forms, including Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF files, for Section 508 compliance.
- Broad knowledge and practical understanding of the Revised Section 508 Standards, federal accessibility reporting frameworks, and applicable governance review processes.
- Demonstrated ability to integrate accessibility requirements into ICT acquisition processes and SDLC activities.
- Strong analytical and data-validation skills, with the ability to interpret accessibility testing results and synthesize complex information into meaningful reports.
- Strong technical understanding of electronic document accessibility and remediation practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical accessibility concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple compliance activities and reporting requirements.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with distributed project and government teams.
- U.S. citizenship is required for this position.
