The Sandra and Leon Levine Jewish Community Center is a non-profit, social service agency founded upon Jewish ethics and values.
The Center provides and initiates diversified social, educational, recreational and cultural programs within a Jewish setting.
The JCC is a partner in serving the community, is affiliated with the JCC Association of North America and a beneficiary agency of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte.
Position Summary
The Levine Jewish Community Center has an immediate opening for a Weekend Tennis Court Maintenance Associate. This position helps maintain clean, orderly tennis courts and surrounding areas to provide a welcoming environment for members and guests.
Schedule
Approximately six hours per week, split between two Saturday shifts:
- Morning: 9:00 a.m.–noon
- Evening: 7:00–10:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Sweep and groom clay tennis courts using designated equipment and established procedures.
- Empty trash cans and replace liners.
- Collect litter from courts and surrounding areas.
- Organize and straighten chairs, tables, and other outdoor furniture.
- Keep court entrances and walkways clear.
- Properly use and store maintenance tools and supplies.
- Report maintenance needs, damaged equipment, and safety concerns to the supervisor.
- Follow JCC safety procedures and interact courteously with members, guests, and staff.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Dependable and punctual, with availability for both Saturday shifts.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining clean, orderly facilities.
- Previous maintenance or tennis court experience preferred; training provided.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work takes place outdoors and involves walking, standing, bending, sweeping, moving furniture, and handling trash containers. The associate must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Possess knowledge of or willingness to learn, Judaic culture and traditions including but not limited to Jewish holidays, rituals, and customs.
Possess the ability to articulate the influences of Judaic culture on our programs to members and staff. Be sensitive to cultural differences, demonstrate flexibility and enthusiasm in work style, create a positive and harmonious workplace, effectively manage time and responsibilities, and understand individual leadership styles and their influence on the well-being of the department staff.
