This is a full-time position through December 31, 2026.
Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Director of New Initiatives, the Fair Chance Facilitator establishes a network of organizations to employ justice-involved individuals utilizing the Fair Chance Hiring philosophy and established workforce development resources and programming.
Essential Functions
• Establishes mutually beneficial partnerships with local businesses willing to hire justice-involved customers.
• Learns and is able to articulate to employers the Fair Chance Hiring philosophy.
• Understand and be able to articulate Justice-Involved programs
• Help local employers understand workforce development programming available to assist with employment of justice-involved community members
• Establishes, nurtures, and maintains appropriate linkages to internal and external resources
• Documents necessary data in Launchpad (Salesforce-based CRM software)
• Travels to various hiring sites in Wayne and Monroe counties to articulate Fair Chance Hiring philosophy and supportive workforce development programming
• Assists team members with tasks or projects with vigilance and attention to detail and communicates potential risk factors to support the well-being of the organization.
• Maintains confidentiality and safeguards employee and organizational integrity through diligent protection of data and systems.
Non-Essential Functions
· Inter-departmental committee work as necessary
• All other duties as assigned.
Requirements:All SEMCA team members are expected to be technically competent and committed to continuous development of their skills. The following skills, knowledge and education or certifications are specifically required for this position:
Required Qualifications
· Associate’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent experience pursuant to SEMCA’s Experience in Lieu of Education policy.
• One to three years’ experience working with justice-involved individuals, social services, or workforce development
• Excellent customer services skills and the ability to follow up in a timely and efficient manner
• Familiarity with Salesforce CRM (Launchpad)
• Position requires effective listening skills, communication of ideas outside the immediate team, and ability to recognize impact of communication style on others; may have to communicate management initiatives, instructions, and policies in a consistent, effective, and timely manner.
• Ability to maintain reasonable and responsible use of resources
• Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and apply solutions, including identification of potential causes.
• Ability to influence organization well-being through essential functions and daily tasks
• Ability to travel to multiple locations in Wayne and Monroe counties to meet with prospective employers
• Learn and be able to articulate to employers the Fair Chance Hiring philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of study
• Familiarity with traditional barriers for returning citizens and justice-involved individuals
Physical Demands
Duties require sufficient mobility to work in a normal office setting and use standard office equipment including a computer, vision to read printed materials on an LCD screen and smartphone, hearing and speech sufficient to communicate in person and over the telephone. These requirements may be reasonably accommodated for an otherwise qualified individual upon request.
