Job Description
Position Summary
The Warehouse & Logistics Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics activities supporting both the lithography and can manufacturing divisions. This role ensures the efficient flow of raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods while maintaining accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery performance.
The Supervisor will lead day-to-day warehouse operations, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and coordinate closely with production, procurement, and customer service teams to support operational excellence. The warehouse & Logistics Supervisor reports to the Purchasing manager.
Requirements:Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
• Supervise daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, material handling, and shipping
• Ensure proper staging and flow of materials to support lithography and can production schedules
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe warehouse environments (5S standards)
• Oversee cycle counts and physical inventory processes
• Maintain warehouse equipment and schedule any needed maintenance (walkie talkies, tow motors, etc.)
Inventory Control & Accuracy
• Maintain accurate inventory levels across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies and variances
• Partner with procurement and production planning to ensure material availability
• Optimize warehouse layout and storage methods to improve efficiency and space utilization
• Communicate with customers to meet their material needs.
Logistics & Transportation
• Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, including carrier selection and scheduling
• Ensure on-time delivery to customers and intercompany transfers
• Manage freight costs and identify opportunities for optimization
• Maintain compliance with all shipping regulations and documentation requirements
• Work closely with sales/Commercial team to set up outbound freight as well.
Team Leadership
• Supervise, train, and develop warehouse personnel (forklift operators, material handlers, shipping/receiving staff)
• Establish clear performance expectations and accountability
• Lead by example in safety, work ethic, and teamwork
• Support staffing, scheduling, and workforce planning
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Work closely with:
o Production (litho and can lines) for material flow and priorities
o Customer service for order fulfillment and shipment timing
o Procurement for inbound material planning
• Act as a key communication link between departments
Safety & Compliance
• Enforce all safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirements
• Ensure proper handling of materials, including inks, coatings, and metal components
• Lead safety training and incident investigations as needed
Continuous Improvement
• Identify and implement process improvements in warehouse and logistics operations
• Utilize KPIs (inventory accuracy, on-time shipments, dock-to-stock time, etc.) to drive performance
• Support broader operational excellence and cost-reduction initiatives
Qualifications
Education & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of warehouse/logistics experience in a manufacturing environment
• 2+ years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Experience in metal manufacturing, packaging, or industrial environments strongly preferred
Skills & Competencies
• Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse management systems (ERP/WMS)
• Proven leadership and team development skills
• Solid knowledge of shipping, receiving, and freight management
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Effective communication across all levels of the organization
