Description:

Purpose of Position

The Logistics Manager is responsible for managing, developing and coordinating all warehouse, shipping, and logistics operations for all facilities. This role ensures that shipping schedules, inventory movements, and distribution activities are executed in alignment with operational plans and customer expectations.

This position provides leadership and direction to logistics and warehouse teams, monitors operational performance, addresses challenges in real time, and ensures alignment between production output and customer delivery requirements. The Logistics Manager plays a key role in maintaining inventory accuracy, supporting employee development, and driving operational efficiency within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Operational Leadership & Production Oversight

• Oversee and coordinate all shipping, receiving, warehousing, and material handling operations to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate movement of materials and finished goods

• Ensure outbound shipments are processed accurately and on time to meet customer delivery requirements

• Coordinate inbound materials, ensuring proper receiving, inspection, and inventory placement

• Monitor workflow, staffing, and resource allocation to support efficient logistics operations

• Partner with production, planning, and customer service teams to align shipping schedules with production output and customer demand

• Identify and resolve operational bottlenecks related to transportation, inventory flow, or warehouse processes

• Initiate and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics efficiency and throughput

Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Pursues compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety procedures related to warehouse, shipping, and material handling operations

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, particularly in areas involving forklifts, dock operations, and material movement

• Develop, implement, and maintain processes to ensure accuracy in shipping, receiving, and inventory control

• Monitor logistics and warehouse processes to ensure adherence to quality standards, packaging requirements, and operational procedures

• Investigate safety incidents, inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, or operational disruptions and implement corrective actions

Team Leadership & Employee Development

• Provide direct supervision, leadership, and coaching to logistics, warehouse, and shipping team members

• Train and mentor employees on logistics processes, safety standards, and performance expectations

• Conduct employee evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to support development, accountability, and performance improvement

• Promote a positive, collaborative, and high-performance work environment aligned with company values

Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

• Identify opportunities to improve logistics processes, inventory accuracy, and overall operational efficiency

• Lead initiatives that improve shipping accuracy, reduce delays, and optimize warehouse and material flow

• Utilize data, KPIs, and reporting to monitor logistics performance and identify improvement opportunities

• Support implementation of best practices in warehouse operations, inventory management, and distribution processes

Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain reports related to shipping performance, inventory accuracy, staffing, and resource utilization

• Communicate logistics updates, operational challenges, and priorities to leadership and cross-functional teams

• Maintain accurate documentation related to shipping, receiving, inventory transactions, and compliance requirements

• Manage employee timekeeping for the assigned shift, ensuring accuracy and addressing attendance or timecard issues

• Perform other duties as assigned to support operational and company objectives

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and supervisory experience in logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations
• Knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material handling processes
• Experience with M2M, Aptean Ship, or comparable ERP/shipping systems preferred
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and make effective decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting and data analysis
• Knowledge of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies preferred

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field preferred

• Previous supervisory or managerial experience within logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations required

• Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

This position operates primarily in a manufacturing environment and requires a consistent on-site presence. The role may involve exposure to heat, cold, fumes, uneven surfaces, and outdoor conditions.
