Position Summary |
Coordinates and performs release of confidential medical information to authorized individuals, insurance companies, attorneys, etc.
|
Primary Position Responsibilities |
- Reviews all incoming request for proper authorizations to obtain copies of medical records, regardless of what system the record is housed.
- Pulls the medical record, copies appropriate information, logs the information into the tracking system, mails, and refiles medical record.
- Processes all subpoenas for medical records.
- Acts as liaison between the hospital and the contracted photocopy service.
- Assist Risk Management with information needed for the Risk Management Office.
