Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking experienced Concrete Construction Foreman with a background in Civil/Public Works projects for projects located in Southern California. We are a general engineering contractor and we specialize in Public Works. We have completed projects all over Southern California such as civil work, underground utilities, landscaping, earthwork, ADA improvements, asphalt, concrete, paving, electrical work and modernization of existing facilities. The ideal candidate has previous civil construction experience, takes initiative, is adaptable, and wants to grow in the construction field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead daily field operations for structural & flat concrete work
- Supervise crews performing formwork and concrete placement
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors
- Plan daily work activities, manpower, equipment, and material needs
- Ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications
- Interpret and execute structural drawings and construction plansPerform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience on commercial, industrial, public works, or infrastructure projects
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Previous assistant superintendent or senior foreman experience
- Strong hands-on experience with formwork systems is REQUIRED
- Minimum 5+ years in structural concrete construction
- Prior experience as a foreman or lead carpenter strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret structural and civil drawings
- Working knowledge of safety regulations and jobsite compliance (OSHA)
- Ability to solve field issues quickly and effectively under pressure
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Communications: Must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend English
- Hearing: Hearing adequate to perform job duties in person
- Speaking: Able to communicate clearly in person and over phone
- Vision: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties as indicated
- Physical: Requires frequent bending, reaching, standing, walking, squatting, sitting, pushing and pulling heavy objects regularly throughout the work shift
- Ability to work in sun, heat, and various climate conditions
- Ability to work in dirty and dusty conditions
- Requires manual dexterity to operate equipment and perform manual tasks
- Able to lift a minimum of 75 pounds without assistance
