Summary of Position

The Heavy Equipment Lube Technician is responsible for performing routine preventive maintenance, fluid changes, and lubrication services on heavy construction and fleet equipment. This role is critical to minimizing equipment downtime, extending asset life, and maintaining safe, efficient operations. Work is performed in a shop environment with some fieldwork as required.

Salary Range

Non-Exempt/Hourly Position $22.00 to $34.00

Schedule & Benefits

Full-time, Monday through Friday 7am to 5pm; Overtime required based on operational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Get lube trucks ready for the day

· Pull wet and dry filters for each job for the day

· Help around the yard or shop when called upon

· Complete service reports

· Fill out oil samples after each job

· Keep track of oil levels in bulk tanks

· Report to supervisor with any filter or oil needs

· Dip oil tanks after delivery to ensure we have correct levels

· Keep Lube Bay clean and tidy

· Work as a team

· Communicate any issues directly with manager

· Perform a truck walk around before putting it on the road

· Put completed oil samples in designated box for shipping

· Make equipment recommendations to customers

· All other job duties assigned

Requirements:
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background check conducted in compliance with Colorado's ban-the-box law (C.R.S. § 8-2-130). Criminal history will only be considered after a conditional offer of employment has been extended, and only if directly relevant to the position
  • Pass an annual MVR review
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 1 year of experience performing lube, oil, and fluid services on heavy equipment or commercial vehicles
  • Ability to read and interpret OEM service manuals and maintenance schedules
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools and power tools
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; ability to obtain a CDL preferred
  • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment and in an outdoor/shop environment

Preferred:

• Completion of a vocational/technical program in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment, or a related field

• Experience with fleet management or maintenance tracking software

• OSHA 10 certification

• Knowledge of Colorado environmental regulations related to fluid and waste disposal

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl

• Regularly required to use hands and arms to operate tools and equipment

• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; team lift required for heavier items

• Exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, fumes, and vibration

• Must be able to work in confined spaces and at varying heights as needed
