About the Role
DACUT Cannabis is seeking an experienced and hands-on Trim Room Supervisor to oversee daily trimming operations at our Flint cultivation facility.
This position is responsible for leading the Trim Room team, coordinating daily production, maintaining product quality, monitoring employee productivity, and ensuring trimming goals are consistently achieved. The Trim Room Supervisor will work closely with Post-Harvest leadership to ensure harvested cannabis moves efficiently through the trimming process while maintaining our standards for quality, consistency, cleanliness, and compliance.
The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who can keep a team organized and productive in a high-volume trimming operation. This is a hands-on supervisory position that requires someone who can lead by example, identify bottlenecks, and maintain accountability without sacrificing product quality.
Essential Responsibilities
Trim Room Operations
- Oversee all daily activities within the Trim Room.
- Coordinate both hand-trimming and machine-trimming operations based on production needs.
- Organize daily workflow based on harvest volume and production schedules.
- Ensure cannabis is properly handled throughout the trimming process.
- Monitor production throughout each shift and make adjustments to maintain workflow.
- Ensure trimmed material moves efficiently into the next stage of post-harvest production.
Team Leadership
- Supervise, train, and provide daily direction to Trim Technicians and Machine Operators.
- Assign employees to workstations and production tasks based on daily needs.
- Set clear daily production expectations and hold employees accountable for performance.
- Monitor individual and team productivity throughout each shift.
- Coach employees on trimming technique, efficiency, quality, and proper product handling.
- Address attendance, performance, and productivity concerns with Post-Harvest leadership.
- Maintain a professional, productive, and team-oriented work environment.
Production & Performance
- Establish and monitor daily trimming goals and production quotas.
- Track pounds processed, employee productivity, and overall Trim Room output.
- Identify production bottlenecks and make real-time adjustments to improve throughput.
- Balance production speed with finished product quality.
- Maintain accurate production records and provide updates to Post-Harvest leadership.
- Ensure staffing levels align with incoming harvest volume and production needs.
Quality Control
- Inspect trimmed cannabis throughout the production process for quality and consistency.
- Ensure employees follow established trimming standards.
- Prevent excessive trimming, unnecessary product loss, or damage to finished flower.
- Identify quality concerns and provide immediate coaching or corrective direction.
- Ensure finished flower meets company standards before leaving the Trim Room.
Machine Trimming
- Oversee the operation of Mobius and other commercial trimming equipment.
- Ensure Machine Operators follow proper setup, operation, cleaning, and shutdown procedures.
- Coordinate machine trimming with hand-finishing operations to maximize efficiency.
- Monitor machine-trimmed product to ensure equipment settings maintain desired quality.
- Report equipment issues or maintenance needs promptly.
Inventory & Compliance
- Maintain accurate weights and documentation throughout the trimming process.
- Verify incoming and outgoing material quantities.
- Ensure flower, trim, waste, and other materials remain properly identified and separated.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and investigate discrepancies.
- Follow all company SOPs and Michigan cannabis compliance requirements.
- Maintain accurate production documentation to support inventory and compliance teams.
Cleanliness & Safety
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary Trim Room.
- Ensure trimming stations, tools, machines, tables, and equipment are cleaned according to company standards.
- Enforce PPE and workplace safety requirements.
- Ensure employees follow proper sanitation and product-handling procedures.
- Maintain an organized production environment that supports efficiency and compliance.
Qualifications
Required
- Previous cannabis trimming or post-harvest experience.
- Previous leadership, Lead, or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of cannabis trimming and finished flower quality standards.
- Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, production-driven environment.
- Ability to monitor productivity and hold employees accountable to production expectations.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to remain organized while managing multiple production priorities.
- Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred
- Experience supervising a high-volume commercial cannabis trimming operation.
- Experience managing production quotas and employee productivity.
- Experience with Mobius or other commercial cannabis trimming equipment.
- Familiarity with cannabis inventory tracking and compliance procedures.
- Experience working within a large-scale cultivation or post-harvest facility.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Ability to sit for extended periods while performing or supervising trimming activities.
- Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, reach, twist, and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Ability to work around cannabis plant material, dust, and strong odors.
- Ability to wear required PPE throughout the workday.
