- Lead and grow a team of platform engineers by setting technical direction, conducting code reviews, mentoring team members, and fostering engineering excellence.
- Design and develop the application-layer AI platform, including core abstractions, integration patterns, agent frameworks, and reusable architecture that product teams can leverage across the organization.
- Define and oversee the strategy for integrating AI services and third-party systems, ensuring scalable, reliable, and maintainable solutions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines supporting AI capabilities, including embeddings, retrieval systems, vector search infrastructure, and structured data workflows.
- Establish engineering standards and best practices related to AI development, platform reliability, observability, performance, and developer experience.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering leadership to shape the AI roadmap, evaluate emerging technologies, and guide technical decision-making across teams.
- Drive architectural consistency across a growing codebase while balancing scalability, innovation, and long-term maintainability.
- 7+ years of software development experience, including at least 3 years in a technical leadership or engineering management role.
- Proven hands-on experience delivering production-grade AI systems, including AI-powered features, agents, integrations, or large-scale intelligent applications.
- Strong expertise with LLM APIs and AI frameworks such as OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, LangChain, or similar technologies.
- Experience building evaluation pipelines, benchmarking systems, and quality assurance processes for AI-powered applications.
- Deep understanding of integration architecture and designing extensible, reliable connectors for third-party services and APIs.
- Solid backend engineering experience with scalable distributed systems; full-stack knowledge is considered an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI data infrastructure, including RAG architectures, embeddings, vector databases, and retrieval pipelines.
- Experience with PHP/Laravel is beneficial, though candidates with strong platform engineering backgrounds and adaptability are encouraged to apply.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in high-growth or startup environments with evolving priorities and ambiguity.
- Strong sense of ownership, strategic thinking, mentorship ability, and passion for building impactful AI-driven solutions.
- Competitive salary package ranging from CAD $170,000 to $190,000, based on experience and impact.
