JOB SUMMARY
This position is PART-TIME responsible for the overall operation of the after-school program. This includes
managing daily operations, designs and implements engaging activities, maintains student attendance
and records, supervises and evaluates staff, and ensures safety and compliance with all local, federal,
and state regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Primary Responsibilities:
• Plan, organize, and implement daily program activities and curriculum, focusing on student
enrichment, education, and development.
• Communicate with parents, school personnel, and other stakeholders, fostering a positive and
supportive environment.
• Manages program budget and resources to meet the specific needs and interests of the students
and community.
• Monitor operations to ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Ensure programs adhere to all relevant local, state, and federal regulations as well as organizations
policies and procedures.
• Communicate regularly with families and school personnel to build positive relationships, share
information, and promote program involvement.
• Maintains all student attendance and activity records.
• Collaborate with other staff and community organizations to enhance programs and activities.
• Assess the effectiveness of programs and make necessary adjustments.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate program staff and volunteers, ensuring high-quality instructions and
adherence to program goals.
• Complete and maintain records for all required trainings through OCFS (Office of Children and
Family Services) and the organization’s Youth Services Department
• Maintain timely, accurate, and complete records, documentation, and reports in accordance with
program, agency, and regulatory requirements.
Secondary Responsibilities:
• Must present a professional image in conduct, attitude, and attire.
• Satisfactory completion of mandatory trainings.
• Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development
OR
• 60 College Credit hours in Sociology, Humanities, or Liberal Arts
• Required to have the School-Age Care Credential (SACC)
• Three (3) years’ experience in supervision and after-school programming
• Two (2) years’ experience monitoring a 21st Century Community Learning Center grant and
operating a School Age Child Care (SACC) licensed program

• Strong commitment in maintaining confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong Leadership skills
• Effectively motivate and guide staff and students.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and effectively present information.
• Ability to organize and manage complex programs, activities, and administrative tasks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to quickly process information.
• Must be able to adapt to changing environments and new program initiatives.
Physical Demands:
• Frequently required to sit, stand, and run.
• Regularly required to speak and listen.
• Must be able to use hands and fingers to handle and feel, type and write.
• Vision abilities include close vision, peripheral, depth perception, and adjust focus.
• Must be able to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
• These physical requirements are representative but not exhaustive.
Application Requirements:
• Physical examination record or pass physical examination by a CAO physician
• Valid NYS Driver’s License and proof of motor vehicle insurance coverage
• Completion of the following documents:
o CAO Employment application
o NYS SCR Clearance Form with acceptable clearance
o Criminal Record Certification and free of criminal convictions of crimes against children
(misdemeanor or felony)
o Fingerprinting required.
o Release for Reference Checks
