Job Description
Under the direction of the Wellness Manager, the Wellness Specialist helps ensure a safe, welcoming and high-quality experience for all Wellness Center members and guests, whether in person, by phone or email. The role involves supporting membership processes, conducting orientations and InBody assessments, assisting members with exercise safety, and collaborating with the team to meet performance goals—all with safety and member satisfaction as top priorities. This individual must maintain high personal standards and adhere to and carry out the Values and Purpose of Greater Midland.
Major Job Responsibilities
• Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and engaging with members to create a welcoming environment.
• Lead member orientations and facility tours, providing clear guidance on programs, services, amenities, and policies; effectively communicate the value of Greater Midland’s offerings to enhance member engagement.
• Accurately manage membership processes, including sign-ups, membership adjustments, form completion, and program registration, with attention to detail.
• Monitor the Wellness Center floor to ensure exercise safety, maintain cleanliness, and proper equipment storage; perform routine cleaning and promptly address safety concerns and report any equipment issues.
• Collaborate effectively with team members by providing flexible support, stepping in to cover shifts or responsibilities as needed, and fostering a positive, cooperative work environment.
• Adhere to all mandated learning and training course requirements.
• Complete, in a timely manner, all requests from supervisors to ensure member satisfaction while adhering to existing processes and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members across multiple sites to ensure consistent service and operations.
• Consistently demonstrate leadership behaviors aligned with Greater Midland’s Values.
Qualification Requirements
• Exercise Science or Health Science background (years of experience considered)
• CPR & First Aid certifications
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Nationally Accredited Personal Training and/or Group Fitness Instructor Certification
• Basic computer and typing proficiency
Environment
Multi-site Corporate Wellness facilities; high level of contact with employees, members, and community. Various hours that may include early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
Various shifts as needed during hours of operation. Mon-Thur 5:00a-9:00p, Fri 5:00a-8:00p, Sat 7:00a-1:00p
