Position: Director of Construction
Location: Hybrid — Southfield, Michigan
Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt
Reports To: Chief Operating Officer

Our goal: scale rapidly without breaking schedule, cost discipline, or quality.
To do that, we need a Director of Construction who not only delivers projects on time — but builds the systems, vendor network, and infrastructure needed to scale construction across markets.
This role is about owning the execution of the plan and using systems to achieve it.
Your Mission
Deliver Brewtopia stands from permit handoff to operations handoff:
- On time
- Within approved hard-cost budgets
- Fully ready for operations
- Using repeatable vendors and systems that scale without heroics
Construction performance is not reactive.
You own outcomes — schedule, cost, quality, and scale.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of construction projects through our CPMs ensuring on time & on budget deliveries
- Establish meaningful Construction Reporting with insights to operations, finance & leadership
- Coordinate & communicate with our CPMs, GCs, Vendors, & Consultants to keep projects moving, ensuring on time delivery within budget.
- Build systems and implement with our CPMs which allow us to replicate success & scale rapidly
- Comfortable putting boots on the ground, holding CPMs, partners & vendors accountable and leverages technology to improve results
- Focused on continuous improvement, quality, and scalability of execution
- Proficiency with construction management software is a plus
- Think critically and be proactive, address potential pitfalls before they become issues
- Resolve issues promptly to keep projects on time
- Keep cross-functional stakeholders in the organization (ownership, executive leadership, peer cross functional departments) updated on construction timelines and KPIs via established company reporting and forecasting processes.
- Comply with established company processes, procedures, policies and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
- Minimum of 5+ years of high-volume construction management experience, ideally in ground up construction for QSR, Car washes, C-Store, or retail in Michigan, New York or other northern US markets.
- Proven success in scaling construction and completing projects on time is required
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Experience putting boots on the ground, managing CPMs or GC’s and using technology to leverage your skills
