Food & Nutrition Cook – Part Time, Benefit Eligible

Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital is a Critical Access Hospital, stand-alone, not-for-profit hospital located in Ste. Genevieve, MO that focuses on personalized care. What to expect as a Food & Nutrition Cook:

• Position preps ingredients, measure, mixes, and cooks food for patients, cafeteria and catering. Prepares patient food according to Providers order. Serves cafeteria line and patient tray line. Run cash register.
• Stock kitchen food and supplies using FIFO rotation.
• Wash pots and pans, clean work areas, equipment, dining room, and other duties as assigned.
• Provide excellent customer service, promote teamwork with great communication (both orally and written).
• Multi-task in a fast-paced commercial kitchen.
• Learn and follow policies and procedures to meet department standards.
• Practice Safe food handling in receiving, preparation, cooking, holding, storage and cleaning.
• Perform heavy physical work throughout shift.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years commercial Food Service experience preferred. Culinary knowledge preferred.
• Ability to learn to operate and clean a variety of kitchen equipment is required.
• Read and understand menus, diets and to follow established recipes is required.
• Basic computer skills for education.
• Ability to obtain Food Handler certificate after hired is required.
