1st Shift Operator Technician/$24-$30 Hourly in Elgin, Illinois at A W Faber Castell Cosmetics, LLC

If you've spent years working around production equipment, know how to keep a line running, and can spot a problem before it becomes a bigger one, we want to talk to you.

We're looking for an experienced Operator Technician who takes pride in doing quality work, keeping production on schedule, and figuring out how to fix problems when they come up.

This is a hands-on production job. You'll operate, set up, monitor, and troubleshoot equipment used to make cosmetic pencils for well-known brands.

Your day-to-day work will include:

• Run production machines safely and efficiently
• Set up equipment and make adjustments when changing products or processes
• Keep production moving and help meet daily production goals
• Check products throughout the run to make sure they're meeting quality standards
• Identify defects and make adjustments when something isn't right
• Troubleshoot equipment and handle basic machine maintenance
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to keep equipment running properly
• Help identify the cause of equipment or production problems and get them resolved
• Work with maintenance and other team members when bigger issues come up
• Keep track of production, quality checks, maintenance, and work completed
• Follow safety procedures and written work instructions
• Keep your work area clean and organized

We're looking for someone who already knows their way around a manufacturing floor. You'll be a strong fit if you have:

• 5+ years of hands-on machine operator experience
• Experience troubleshooting production equipment
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance
• A good eye for quality and detail
• A dependable work ethic and good attendance
• The ability to work independently and take ownership of your line
• The ability to follow written procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift, push, or move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb ladders/steps as needed
