Job Description
Hoefer Welker is seeking a qualified Healthcare Technology Specialist. Candidate must have minimum 3-5-years of experience as a technology designer/consultant for healthcare design and construction projects. Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of low voltage systems, clinical technologies and interoperability as well as consulting with healthcare providers at a leadership level and coordinating with architectural design teams.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide working knowledge and consulting of technology systems (cabling infrastructure, access control/security systems, nurse call, audio/visual systems, RTLS, and other relevant clinical technology systems) to design-related project teams.
- Ability to develop estimated technology budgets, design phase planning, industry recognizable deliverables including timing of deliverables, construction administration, bid process, delivery and installation coordination of low voltage systems.
- Manage technology design sub-consultants by reviewing submissions, ensuring the sub-consultant design/schedule is aligned with the project and appropriate level of detail, coordinate meetings with the sub-consultant/design team and Owner.
- Actively participate and lead technology related discussions, visioning or brainstorming sessions.
- Participate in business development activities including project pursuits, interviews with clients, industry conferences, and industry relationships.
- Must be able to work interactively architectural and engineering project teams.
- Provide support and work alongside HW senior technology specialist and CTS team members.
Job Requiremetns
Education/Experience:
Preferred bachelor’s degree in IT, biomedical engineering or equivalent in education or experience. 3+ years prior experience as a technology designer within healthcare construction projects. Experience in leading clinical user meetings and presenting information to project stakeholders, senior clinical leadership and physicians. RCDD and CTS-D certification a plus.

Candidate must possess detail driven habits, ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment. Must have excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, ability to work effectively in a team atmosphere and be deadline oriented.

- Knowledge of technology uses in a healthcare setting and emerging technologies
- Must be able to successfully interact with external project team, and client, stakeholders
- Ability to read and red-line architectural drawings
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Working knowledge of Blue Beam
- Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information
- Ability to travel to projects minimum 25% or as needed
