Kitchen Manager in Sacramento, California at Urban Roots Brewery LP

About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Kitchen Manager to lead daily operations at Urban Roots Smokehouse. You'll oversee food preparation, food service, catering, manage kitchen staff, and ensure consistent quality.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a healthy and safe kitchen culture and environment based on our values
• Manage kitchen staff scheduling, hiring, training, and performance
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards (ServSafe compliance, temperature logs, proper cooling/storage practices)
• Manage food catering operations
• Control food costs using ordering, inventory and accounting systems
• Control labor costs
• Ensure consistent product quality and presentation during service
• Manage all food preparation
• Handle kitchen equipment maintenance
• Enforce health code and OSHA compliance

• 3+ years kitchen management experience; BBQ or live-fire cooking experience strongly preferred
• 5+ years kitchen experience
• Kind personality and temperament
• An adept communicator and works well with others
• Knowledge of low-and-slow cooking techniques
• ServSafe certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Strong leadership and staff development skills
• Open availability
• Physical ability to lift 75+ lbs and work in hot kitchen conditions
• Proficient (or willing to learn) Paylocity, Toast, Xtra Chef and various ordering platforms.
• Proficient at Word and Excel
