JOB TITLE: Aggregate Truck Scale Operator

JOB CODE: 956

REPORTS TO: SALES REPRESENTATIVE

SALARY: DOE

POSITION STATUS: Regular Full-Time, FLSA NON-EXEMPT

HOURS PER WEEK: 40

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Communication/interface with all incoming and outgoing trucks (customers). Accurate logging of all relevant data to each truck entering and exiting Fort McDowell Yavapai Materials (FMYM) facilities. The Aggregate Truck Scale Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of truck scales to weigh trucks transporting aggregates such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone. This role involves recording and maintaining accurate weight data and ensuring compliance with legal and safety regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Essential functions may include the following tasks: knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and duties performed by positions in this class.

  • Collect and enter all pertinent information into the computerized aggregate dispatch program. Each customer, truck company and truck number are weighed and recorded into the computerized scale program.
  • This along with Order information – what material, how much material, and accurate accounting of who, what, how much, destination, and billing data.
  • Professional, courteous telephone and radio communication with customers and all truck drivers is key to a smooth transaction.
  • Dependable – on-schedule attendance is mandatory.
  • The supervisor may require other tasks to assist with daily operations.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and are subject to our random drug testing program.
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Able to complete initial MSHA training. Must wear suitable work attire.
  • Able to remain alert and communicate clearly with the loader operator any information that affects what and how the loading process.
  • Must abide by all policy standards written by FMYNE, including any safety standards set by FMYN and MSHA.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

None - will train.

Prior experience in a similar role or familiarity with aggregate operations is preferred.

Basic math skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency with computers and data entry.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is performed in a scale house or outdoor setting near aggregate plants.
  • May involve exposure to dust, noise, and heavy equipment.
  • Shift work may be required, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, or holidays.

INDIAN PREFERENCE:

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of federally recognized Indian tribes. To be considered for Indian Preference, you must submit your Certificate of Indian Blood (CIB) with your application.
