Job Description

Real Estate Bookkeeper

At Experimental Holdings a commercial real estate company (a subsidiary of The Reading Group), we are looking for a highly skilled Real Estate Bookkeeper who is eager to contribute to a growing and dynamic company. This position will report to the Controller and will execute the full accounting cycle for multiple properties while ensuring accuracy across our growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

    Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the general ledger structure and multiple entity accounting.Perform Full cycle Accounts Payable.Generate and monitor purchase orders.Prepare journal entries including maintenance of recurring journal entries and allocations.Prepare invoices, checks, account statements, reports, and general ledger extracts.Monitor accounts payable and receivables to ensure that payments are up to date.Communicate (both in verbal and written form) with tenants, vendors, and other contacts.Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.Other duties as assigned

Required Skills & Qualifications

    BA/BS in Accounting or Business with an emphasis in accounting or equivalent experience.At least 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, specifically involving general ledger maintenance and financial reporting.Experience with commercial real estate property accounting.Technical Proficiency:Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office are required.Familiarity with Rent Manager, QuickBooks, or AvidXchange or other AP Automation Software.
Core Competencies:Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy in data entry.Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time constraints and meet strict deadlines.Ability to handle strictly confidential financial and tenant information.Clear and concise communication skills for collaborating with a shared service team.

Wages are negotiable within the competitive salary range set by The Reading Group. The ranges have been established based on organization, industry, and national standards. Desired salary expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
