Job Description

About Omninet Capital LLC

Omninet Capital is a vertically integrated private real estate investment and property management firm headquartered in Beverly Hills, California. Founded and led by its principals, the firm owns and operates a diversified portfolio of multifamily and commercial assets across the United States, with approximately 300 professionals managing the platform end-to-end — from acquisitions, capital markets, and asset management to property operations, construction, accounting, legal, and technology.

Our edge is operational. Because we underwrite, close, and operate our own assets, every member of the acquisitions team works alongside the people ultimately responsible for executing the business plan. We combine institutional rigor with the speed and conviction of a principal investor, while increasingly leveraging AI and automation to accelerate underwriting, sharpen decision-making, and uncover opportunities others miss.

Position Summary

Omninet Capital is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our Accounting team in Beverly Hills, CA. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career accounting professional to gain hands-on experience supporting both Construction Accounting and Corporate Accounting within a vertically integrated real estate investment, development, and property management company.

Reporting to the Controller, the Staff Accountant will assist with construction job cost accounting, corporate accounting operations, month-end close activities, treasury support, and various financial reporting responsibilities. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Accounting

  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to construction job cost accounting.
  • Review job cost transactions for accuracy and prepare journal entries and job cost adjustments in Yardi.
  • Generate monthly job cost reports and support financial reporting packages.
  • Update cash flow tracking for capital improvement (CapEx) and tenant improvement (TI) projects.
  • Process and post construction management fees.
  • Analyze and prepare reclassifications for construction-related transactions.
  • Assist with year-end capital expenditure accruals.
  • Support the Controller with capital project analysis and tax reporting related to tangible property regulations.
  • Create and maintain construction jobs, contracts, and budgets within the Yardi Job Cost module.
  • Coordinate with Construction and Operations teams on new projects, budget revisions, and job status updates.
  • Track project budgets, timelines, and tenant improvement work.
  • Review, code, and verify construction invoices before submitting to Accounts Payable.
  • Monitor tenant improvement overages, prepare tenant billings, and process reimbursement requests.
  • Prepare construction and job cost reports for internal departments and external partners.
  • Support the annual capital budgeting process by creating jobs, tracking budget changes, and monitoring undisbursed project costs.

Corporate Accounting

  • Support accounts receivable activities for corporate, commercial, and residential entities.
  • Process corporate billbacks and related accounting transactions.
  • Track management fees and coordinate property reimbursements.
  • Process wire transfers and assist with treasury-related activities.
  • Assist with forming and maintaining legal entities and corporate records.
  • Monitor and process unclaimed property filings.
  • Support property tax appeal administration.
  • Assist with external audits, 401(k) audits, workers’ compensation audits, and other compliance activities.
  • Support quarterly distributions and other accounting projects as assigned.

General Accounting

  • Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly financial close and reporting processes.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Construction, Property Management, Operations, and Finance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited college or university.
  • 2-4 years of accounting experience; internship or real estate accounting experience is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with Yardi is preferred but not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, professionalism, and commitment to accuracy and teamwork.

Why Join Omninet?

This is an excellent opportunity to build a strong foundation in both construction and corporate accounting while working alongside experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
