Job Title: Mechanical Assembler – PDC and E-House Construction
Department: Manufacturing
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Position Summary:
The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for assembling and fabricating mechanical components for Power Distribution Centers (PDCs) and E-Houses. This role requires expertise in sheet metal structures and industrial construction practices. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in interpreting technical drawings, working with industrial-grade materials, and following assembly procedures to meet quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and install sheet metal structures, enclosures, and other mechanical components for PDC and E-House projects.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
- Measure, cut, bend, and fasten sheet metal using tools such as shears, presses, and welding equipment.
- Install industrial-grade components including HVAC systems, access panels, and structural reinforcements.
- Ensure structural integrity and alignment of assemblies by using precision measuring tools.
- Collaborate with electrical and welding teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Conduct quality inspections to ensure all assemblies meet specifications and standards.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during the assembly process.
- Document work completed and provide feedback on design improvements to engineering and production teams.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical assembly or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in sheet metal or industrial construction.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Skilled in using hand and power tools, including shears, saws, grinders, and drills.
- Experience working with industrial materials such as steel, aluminum, and composite panels.
- Familiarity with HVAC systems, brackets, and other structural components used in industrial settings.
- Basic welding experience is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise assembly instructions.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to industrial machinery, noise, and occasional outdoor conditions.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Regular work hours with occasional overtime based on project demands.
