Team Lead, Investments Representative

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Team Lead, Investments Representative based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to lead a team of investment professionals within a fast-growing financial services environment.
You will combine people leadership, operational excellence, and deep investment expertise to improve client experiences.
As a hands-on leader, you will coach representatives, oversee daily operations, and ensure high-quality, compliant interactions.
You will play a key role in shaping processes, supporting complex trading situations, and driving continuous improvement.
Working closely with teams across compliance, risk, trading, and product, you will help deliver reliable and innovative financial solutions.
This position is ideal for a motivated leader who enjoys mentoring others while remaining actively involved in day-to-day execution.

Accountabilities:

The Team Lead will oversee a team of Investment Representatives and Senior Investment Representatives while ensuring strong performance, compliance, and client satisfaction. This player-coach role requires balancing team leadership with direct involvement in operational activities, quality reviews, and complex client situations.

  • Manage the daily operations of an investment support team, including coaching sessions, side-by-side support, performance management, and real-time guidance.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in client queues and maintaining a strong understanding of frontline challenges.
  • Own team performance metrics, including service quality, client satisfaction, trade execution accuracy, and compliance standards.
  • Conduct trade reviews and quality assurance assessments for complex transactions involving equities, options, and cryptocurrency products.
  • Support resolution of urgent client situations such as trading disruptions, margin events, and corporate actions through collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop Investment Representatives by supporting certification pathways and building expertise in wealth management and trading concepts.
  • Partner with Compliance, Risk, Trading, and Product teams to create and implement processes that improve efficiency while maintaining regulatory requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance workflows, tools, and client experiences through continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings strong leadership experience within a regulated financial environment, advanced investment knowledge, and the ability to coach teams while maintaining high operational standards.

  • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or supervising teams within financial services, investment operations, or a similarly regulated environment.
  • Strong knowledge of wealth management, trading strategies, options, margin accounts, and cryptocurrency products.
  • Ability to explain complex investment concepts clearly to clients and team members.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify compliance risks, process gaps, and operational improvements.
  • Experience managing performance metrics, quality assurance processes, and customer experience initiatives.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Compliance, Risk, Trading, and Product.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Required regulatory qualifications and registrations, including applicable investment representative and supervisor credentials, securities/equities and options approvals, or completion of updated regulatory examinations aligned with Canadian investment industry requirements.
