Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (Advanced Practice Provider)

Join a Growing, Collaborative Cardiology Practice

Emerson Hospital is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our growing Division of Cardiology. Our team provides comprehensive cardiovascular care in a collaborative environment that combines the resources of a leading community hospital with close relationships with tertiary academic medical centers.

Working alongside a team of board-certified cardiologists and experienced advanced practice providers, you will play an integral role in caring for patients across the continuum of cardiovascular disease.

Position Summary

The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner is a valued member of the cardiovascular team, providing comprehensive care to patients in both the outpatient office and inpatient hospital settings. This role emphasizes close collaboration with supervising cardiologists while allowing significant autonomy in patient evaluation, management, and longitudinal care.

The successful candidate will help deliver high-quality, evidence-based cardiovascular care while participating in quality improvement initiatives and supporting the continued growth of our cardiovascular program. The ideal candidate is a collaborative, patient-centered clinician who enjoys practicing in a dynamic environment where no two days are exactly alike and where advanced practice providers serve as integral members of the cardiovascular team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and manage patients with a broad spectrum of cardiovascular conditions in both the outpatient office and inpatient hospital settings.
  • Work collaboratively with supervising cardiologists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Independently assess, diagnose, treat, and follow patients with common cardiovascular disorders.
  • Supervise and staff the cardiovascular stress laboratory, including nuclear stress testing, ensuring safe patient care and appropriate coordination with the supervising cardiologist.
  • Coordinate care across multiple specialties, including arranging referrals to tertiary care centers when appropriate.
  • Assist with transitions of care following hospitalization and ensure continuity of cardiovascular management.
  • Participate in the management of patients with heart failure, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, valvular heart disease, hypertension, preventive cardiology, and other cardiovascular conditions.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives designed to enhance cardiovascular outcomes, patient safety, and the overall patient experience.
  • Assist with educational initiatives for nursing staff, medical assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in addressing the day-to-day clinical needs of a growing cardiovascular practice, including urgent patient evaluations, coordination of care, and other responsibilities as they arise.
  • For candidates with appropriate interest and training, opportunities may be available to participate in selected cardiovascular procedures, such as implantable cardiac monitor insertion and other procedural services.

What We Offer

  • Collaborative practice with an experienced team of board-certified cardiologists.
  • Diverse and engaging mix of outpatient and inpatient cardiology.
  • Opportunity to practice at the top of your license in a highly respected cardiovascular program.
  • Participation in a rapidly expanding cardiology service line, including growth in cardiac imaging, electrophysiology, structural heart disease, heart failure, and interventional cardiology.
  • A collegial, supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
  • Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.
