Description:

Job Summary: The Clinic Supervisor will ensure patient flow is maintained to keep clinic functioning in an efficient manner. The Clinic Supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of the clinic nursing staff and the patient advocates, budget and productivity management, supply ordering, medication ordering, and the implementation of tools and processes to ensure effective and efficient operations. Clinic Supervisor frequently assist in the care of medical patients, including but not limited to rooming patients and providing education to patients as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

1.Represent the clinic to the community in a consistently positive and effective manner.

2.Oversee and coordinate clinic operation duties including clinic supply management, referrals, policy and procedures, budgets, responses to employee and patient questions and concerns, and completion of appropriate paperwork to comply with insurance and reimbursement guidelines.

3.Orient and assure compliance of all nursing personnel (including volunteers) to clinic operations, Electronic Medical Records, CLIA testing, lab procedures, policies and procedures, Blood Borne Pathogen regulations, Immunization protocols, and other information as needed. Maintains appropriate documentation of all training and testing.

4.Monitor clinic flow and assist providers, nurses or patient advocates with keeping on time and meeting productivity goals.

5.Manage, support, and evaluate nursing support staff and patient advocates, assess the staffing needs of the clinic and assist with the hiring process for direct report staff positions.

6.Track timesheets, scheduling, and coordination of all direct reports for all leave types, to include but not limited to; PTO requests, attendance issues, and FMLA, in accordance with policies and procedures.

7.Oversee nursing staff designated to comply with the Vaccines for Children (VFC)program and CLIA waiver.

8.Cover staff absences as allowed by licensure.

9.Perform other related work as assigned or requested.

10.Works in harmony with others, exhibits a positive attitude and commitment to the health center mission. Actions show commitment to team effort, works well with others, supports group objectives, and participates in staff meetings and team problem solving.

11.Consistent patient-centered, caring disposition is a must for this position.

12.Knowledgeable of the scope of practice for all nursing disciplines as described by the Nursing Practice Act.

13.Demonstrates the ability to effectively organize and prioritize work and utilize available resources to assist with efficient patient flow in the clinic.

14.Assists in the orientation and education of new nursing employees.

15.Utilizes the health center Performance Improvement processes in identifying the center needs related to any aspect of patient care and customer service.

16.Demonstrates flexibility in work roles and schedules to meet the changing needs of the center.

22.Ability to identify own areas of needed improvement and formulate goals to work toward.es, procedures, memos, and protocols;

18.Maintains professional appearance; follows established dress code.

19.Promptly informs Supervisor of real or potential clinic problems.

20.Maintains confidentiality of patients and staff.

21.Actively pursues continuing education in order to improve job skills or performance.

22.Ability to identify own areas of needed improvement and formulate goals to worktoward.

23.Utilizes appropriate methods to deal with stressful situations.

24.Understands and supports organizational goals.

25.Meets work schedules, fulfills responsibilities and commitments, i.e. attendance, punctuality, dependability, initiative, productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

Medical Assistant or Licensed Practical Nurse

Skills:

1.Ability to work as a team member.

2.Consistent attendance at staff meetings.

3.Strong computer skills including Word and Excel as well as ability to adapt to new electronic records.

4.Ability to manage people.

5.Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.

6.Excellent attention to detail.

7.Able to manage multiple projects, prioritize and meet deadlines.

8.Ae to work under pressure.

9.Excellent customer service skills.
