The position is remote in the United States and requires approximately 30–40% travel to professional conferences and company headquarters in Redwood City, California.

Accountabilities:
  • Develop and execute the Global Medical Affairs strategy and medical objectives for an assigned GI oncology asset, covering scientific engagement, evidence generation, medical communications, internal education, and patient advocacy.
  • Build and implement a healthcare professional engagement strategy that generates actionable insights and informs medical strategy, programs, and lifecycle planning.
  • Serve as the medical affairs representative on cross-functional teams and provide therapeutic-area expertise across clinical, commercial, regulatory, safety, market access, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Lead scientific engagement with key external stakeholders through advisory boards, investigator interactions, congresses, peer-to-peer discussions, and other educational activities.
  • Communicate complex clinical and scientific data effectively to key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals, and internal stakeholders through presentations, educational programs, and scientific discussions.
  • Support clinical development activities, including protocol review, trial enrollment, scientific engagement, site support, and interpretation of emerging clinical data.
  • Partner with Real-World Evidence, Biomarker/Companion Diagnostics, Clinical, MSL, and other teams to develop integrated evidence-generation strategies.
  • Lead or support publication planning, gap assessments, evidence-generation plans, medical information materials, abstracts, manuscripts, scientific communications, and data disclosure activities.
  • Provide medical support for scientific symposia and congresses while ensuring consistent, accurate, and compliant scientific communication.
  • Collaborate with Patient Advocacy and Grants teams to incorporate patient perspectives and develop appropriate external medical education initiatives.
  • Contribute to global launch readiness and lifecycle management activities, including integrated brand planning, regulatory submissions, reimbursement considerations, and label development.
  • Participate in global medical affairs governance and cross-functional strategy teams, helping align priorities, identify opportunities, and resolve complex scientific or operational challenges.
  • Maintain strong relationships with global GI oncology experts and continuously monitor emerging science, competitive developments, treatment guidelines, and healthcare trends.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic, high-growth environment while managing multiple strategic priorities with limited supervision and a strong focus on patient impact.
Requirements:
  • Advanced doctorate degree such as MD, DO, PharmD, PhD, or equivalent in a medical or scientific discipline.
  • 15+ years of relevant Medical Affairs experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry across local, regional, and/or global environments, and/or significant prior clinical oncology practice.
  • Strong scientific expertise in oncology, with direct knowledge or experience in gastrointestinal cancers, particularly PDAC and CRC, highly valued.
  • Demonstrated experience executing key Medical Affairs activities, including medical communications, medical information, training, evidence generation, publications, and expanded access programs.
  • Proven clinical trial experience, including protocol development or review, site selection, enrollment support, and clinical data analysis.
  • Experience developing and executing global medical strategies and supporting product launches and lifecycle management.
  • Strong understanding of integrated medical and commercial planning, regulatory submissions, reimbursement considerations, label development, and evidence-generation strategies.
  • Existing relationships with GI oncology healthcare professionals and global key opinion leaders, with strong networking and external engagement capabilities.
  • Excellent ability to analyze, synthesize, and communicate complex scientific information with a clear and credible point of view.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across highly matrixed organizations and influence senior stakeholders without relying solely on formal authority.
  • Strong strategic thinking, business judgment, and ability to translate scientific insights into actionable medical strategies.
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, evolving environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 30–40%, including travel to company headquarters and professional conferences.
  • Experience with guideline submissions, such as NCCN, and engagement with global health authorities is a plus.

  • Significant learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Remote work arrangement within the United States.
  • Opportunity to work at the forefront of oncology innovation and contribute to strategies addressing significant unmet needs in GI cancers.
  • Cross-functional exposure and collaboration with senior leaders and experts across clinical development, research, commercial, regulatory, safety, market access, and medical affairs.
