This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Strategic Account Manager IV - Solar & BESS based in the United States.
This remote role offers the opportunity to shape growth across the rapidly expanding renewable energy market. You will lead strategic account development and project opportunities across solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and emerging clean technologies. The position focuses on building executive-level relationships and expanding market share with EPCs, developers, owners, operators, and other key stakeholders. You will influence projects from early opportunity identification through commercial execution and account growth. Working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams, you will help develop solutions that address complex customer and project requirements. The role is well suited to an entrepreneurial, technically minded sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants measurable impact on the clean-energy transition.
- Build and strengthen relationships with executive-level stakeholders and key decision-makers across the renewable energy sector.
- Develop and execute territory and strategic account plans to increase market share, revenue, account penetration, and customer satisfaction.
- Identify, qualify, and develop new customers, projects, and sales opportunities within solar, BESS, and emerging clean technologies.
- Manage and advance the project pipeline, from lead generation and customer engagement through negotiation and deal closure.
- Establish the organization as a preferred partner among EPCs, developers, EORs, owners/operators, and other renewable-energy stakeholders.
- Prepare quotes, conduct timely follow-ups, gather customer feedback, and proactively communicate value through measurable business outcomes.
- Design and execute high-impact lead-generation strategies, while representing the business at customer meetings, conferences, trade shows, and project sites.
- Deliver technical presentations explaining solutions and services, translating complex technical concepts into clear customer value.
- Review contracts related to sales opportunities, identify commercial risks, negotiate terms, and facilitate timely closing.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams to develop Electrical Balance of System (EBoS) solutions addressing customer pain points and project requirements.
- Apply knowledge of large-scale solar plant layouts to optimize product content and solution positioning.
- Track and report financial performance, sales strategies, regional results, and business-planning outcomes.
- Maintain strong customer relationships while independently managing multiple projects, priorities, and challenging deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- 7–10 years of relevant experience in the solar industry, with preference for candidates combining strong technical expertise with solar and energy-storage experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of solar and BESS equipment for commercial or utility-scale applications.
- Working knowledge of engineering, procurement, and construction practices associated with large-scale solar farms.
- Demonstrated success in strategic account management, business development, sales, negotiation, and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Strong customer-service and active-listening skills, with a clear ability to understand and respond to customer needs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly when managing multiple projects and demanding timelines.
- Commercially astute, highly motivated, proactive, and capable of independently driving strategic initiatives.
- Competitive base salary of $128,200–$160,200, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
