Job Summary
The Trainer Coordinator will develop and train processes/programs for production employees. This position will also lead training with all new and existing processes programs. The Training Coordinator will be responsible for training and skills development of new and/or transferred employees for the assigned area and shift. This role will partner with the Document Control Coordinator to create Standard Work / Visual Work. Trainer will train employees on Standard Work, assess and track skill level of the employee.
Responsibility
· In collaboration with the Supervisor, manage the introduction and assimilation of new/transferred employees into the work area.
· Communicate the training process and expectations to each new/transferred employee.
· Using the available training tools (standard work, work instructions, visual standards, etc.), train employees on work processes.
· Complete observations and verification with the employee to ensure necessary skills and level(s) of proficiency are demonstrated.
· Manage the process to ensure employees perform work only in areas and on machines for which they have been properly trained.
· Conduct re-training if/when requested by the Supervisor or employee.
· Assist EHS and Human Resources with tracking and maintaining of training documentation.
· Manage the process of ensuring training documentation is available and visible in the work area.
· Assist the Supervisor and other functional areas (e.g. EHS) with training-related actions, such as communication of Safety Alerts, Quality Alerts, EHS training, etc.
· Represent the work area on special teams, such as Safety Committee, Continuous Improvement, etc. and keep the employees in the work area informed of actions and developments from the special team meetings.
· Assist the area, if/when needed, to backfill for absenteeism.
· Participate in benchmarking other Linamar plants for best/better training practices.
· Assist the work area with other activities related to the operation
· Participate in new hire orientation; working with new employees
· Train employees using the 4 Step Training Method (TWI)
· Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for in house subject matter experts
· Other duties as assigned
Requirements:Academic/Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency preferred
- Minimum (3) three years in Die Cast and/or Machining working in a manufacturing environment
- TWI (Training Within Industry) certification preferred
Required Skills/Experience
- Prior training experience in manufacturing setting preferred
- Microsoft office applications (Microsoft Excel, Work, Power Point, and Outlook)
- Accuracy with the tracking of training
- Trained on work instructions procedures
- Knowledge of IATF-16949 system
- Must have the flexibility to work on all (3) three shifts
- Must have good problem solving and oral/written communication skills
- Dependability and the ability to work professionally with others
