POSITION DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages a preventive maintenance program within the confines of an annual budget that includes all routine maintenance, installations, and repair of production lines, buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and minimizes overtime and call-in hours.
- Ensures plant maintenance is performed timely, accurately, and within budget with the assistance of maintenance staff.
- Coaches, counsels, and manages the performance of direct reports.
- Identifies the need and makes arrangements for appropriate third-party contractor "temporary” support.
- Ensures that all temporary, new, and existing employees are trained and remain current with appropriate training needs.
- Ensures the maximum safety level of all workers under his/her supervision by ensuring that they observe all safety measures to the letter, and be able to identify and resolve conditions that are likely to endanger the safety of the workers or others.
- Ensure the proper use of all tools and equipment in the plant for cutting, bending, and welding of equipment.
- Assist less skilled workers in different phases of building, construction, and general maintenance and review works performed by them to ensure that they are in good condition.
- Will be required to perform “hands-on” maintenance work and other duties as requested by Management. This includes performing maintenance tasks as needed which includes working on equipment, changing parts out, performing PMs, etc.
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Must be proficient in the following areas: preventive maintenance, welding, fabrication, mechanical systems, automotive maintenance, verifying standards of work performed by maintenance Team and third parties, etc.
- Professional certifications in mechanical engineering, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and construction management.
PREFERRED COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Professional certifications in mechanical engineering, electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, and construction management.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- One (1) year of Plant Management experience.
- Two (2) to five(5) years of Supervisory experience.
- Some college coursework or professional certification is preferred.
- Experience with pumps, small motors, and filling equipment preferred.
- Welding experience is a plus. Blow Molding equipment experience is a plus.
- HAZMAT training is a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plant Maintenance Workers
Physical Demands:
- Requires heavy lifting.
- Requires Standing for 8-10 hours per day
- Requires Kneeling/Squatting for 4-6 hours per day
- Requires Bending/Stooping for 4-6 hours per day
- Requires use of a Pallet Jack to move palletized containers. Palletized containers weigh about 1,296 lbs.
- Requires lifting and carrying objects that weigh between 36-55 lbs. from 2-4 hours per day. Regular lifting and carrying objects that weigh less than 15 lbs. from 8-10 hours per day.
- Job requires a significant amount of time spent outside subject to various weather conditions.
Work Environment
- Location of position: Plant
- Work performed in an outside warehouse environment.
- A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are required
- Background checks and drug tests required
- Work is performed in a combination of shop / outdoor environments.
- May be exposed to shop elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, and oils.
- May be required to work hours other than the regular schedule.
