About the Role

We are seeking a Sales Specialist to join our expanding team and support business growth in Western Canada. This individual will be responsible for driving sales, providing technical expertise, and ensuring customer satisfaction across the region.

Position Summary:

The Sales Specialist will be accountable for identifying and closing new business opportunities, managing existing customer relationships, and promoting Cytek’s portfolio of flow cytometry instruments, reagents, and services. The role requires a combination of technical proficiency, consultative sales skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities in academic, clinical research, and biopharma laboratories.
    • Achieve and exceed territory sales targets through effective prospecting, lead generation, and consultative selling.
    • Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers by providing ongoing support and identifying new opportunities.
  • Technical Expertise and Support:
    • Deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations, effectively communicating the capabilities and benefits of Cytek’s spectral flow cytometry technology.
    • Provide post-sales support, including follow-up visits and coordination with Field Service and Applications teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Territory Management:
    • Develop and execute a strategic territory plan to maximize sales growth.
    • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline development, and customer interactions using CRM tools.
  • Collaboration and Representation:
    • Collaborate with Field Applications Scientists, Field Service Engineers, and Marketing teams to address customer needs and deliver seamless customer experience.
    • Represent Cytek at industry conferences, trade shows, and regional meetings, including pre- and post-event activities.
  • Market Insights and Reporting:
    • Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback.
    • Provide regular reports to management, offering insights to support strategic decision-making.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or higher degree in Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, ora related field with 7+ years of overall academic, work related, and/ or sales experience preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in flow cytometry and previous experience in capital equipment sales are preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage sales territory and consistently achieve or exceed revenue targets.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
  • Ability to travel approximately 50-75% of the time, including air and ground transportation.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • The individual must be able to travel via commercial airlines, trains, and rental vehicles to customer sites.
  • Ability to lift upto25lbsand stand for prolonged periods during product demonstrations and events
