The Opportunity
Lesley University’s Graduate Department of Expressive Therapies is seeking a qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach: GEXTH 5122 - Expressive Arts Therapy Studio; July 20-24 (M-F); 9:00 am - 6:00 pm. Low residency.
Course Description:
This studio course is designed for students to gain an experiential understanding of Expressive Arts Therapy by engaging with multi-modal arts. This course will focus on the processes of Expressive Arts Therapy drawn from theories of play, improvisation, creativity, embodiment, performance, and imaginal dialogue. Students will be exposed to media and techniques to develop competencies in arts-based approaches to therapeutic art-making. There will be an opportunity for reflection, creative expression, discussion, presentation, and artistic feedback.
Qualities and CapabilitiesA successful candidate will have:
A Master's degree in Expressive Arts Therapy or a related field (required). PhD or terminal degree (preferred).
Must hold the credential of REAT from the International Expressive Arts Therapy Association (IEATA) (required).
Minimum two+ years experience as an Expressive Arts Therapist.
Minimum two+ years of graduate-level teaching experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
