This role is designed for a technical leader who combines strong backend engineering expertise with practical experience applying Artificial Intelligence in software development environments.
You will lead complex Java-based initiatives, guiding architecture decisions, engineering practices, and delivery quality.
The position focuses on building secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions within a challenging technology environment.
You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product teams, architects, and engineers to transform complex requirements into effective technical solutions.
A key part of the role is driving the adoption of AI tools, LLMs, and intelligent development practices to improve productivity and software quality.

The Tech Lead Java will be responsible for providing technical direction across backend development initiatives, ensuring high-quality solutions and promoting effective use of AI throughout the engineering lifecycle.

• Lead technical decisions related to backend architecture, development practices, quality standards, and solution design.
• Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to understand requirements, define technical approaches, and create implementation strategies.
• Translate business needs into technical solutions, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
• Design and guide implementations involving Java applications, microservices, APIs, integrations, messaging systems, and databases.
• Conduct and support code reviews, ensuring security, maintainability, and adherence to engineering standards.
• Support developers in solving complex technical challenges, troubleshooting issues, and evaluating system impacts.
• Apply AI tools to improve requirement analysis, solution design, coding, testing, documentation, and code review processes.
• Guide the adoption of LLMs, RAG, AI agents, multi-agent workflows, and guardrails within software engineering practices.
• Establish best practices for responsible AI usage, ensuring technical validation and avoiding dependency on automated suggestions.
• Work alongside architecture, security, DevOps, and engineering teams to improve delivery processes.
• Support the evolution of development workflows, including CI/CD pipelines, pull requests, testing strategies, and deployment practices.
• Monitor and improve the impact of AI adoption on delivery speed, quality, and reduction of rework.

The ideal candidate has strong backend engineering experience, technical leadership capabilities, and practical knowledge of AI-driven software development approaches.

• Solid experience with Java, Spring Boot, JPA, and Spring Batch.
• Strong knowledge of microservices architecture, hexagonal architecture, APIs, and system integrations.
• Experience working with MongoDB, Oracle, RabbitMQ, and Kafka.
• Experience with automated testing using JUnit and Mockito.
• Familiarity with GitLab, CI/CD processes, and code review practices.
• Ability to design technical solutions and evaluate architectural impacts.
• Experience leading developers technically and facilitating discussions between technology and business teams.
• Practical experience applying Artificial Intelligence in software development workflows.
• Knowledge of LLMs, prompt engineering, and context engineering.
• Familiarity with RAG, AI agents, multi-agent systems, and guardrails.
• Experience working in banking or highly regulated environments.
• Knowledge of AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Experience with Kong, Backstage, Datadog, or similar engineering platforms is desirable.
• Familiarity with integrating AI tools into repositories, pipelines, documentation platforms, and enterprise environments.
• Experience with GitHub Copilot, Codex, Claude Code, or similar AI development tools is a plus.
• Knowledge of observability, application security, and DevSecOps practices is desirable.
